Brian Johnson is one of my top three favorite Christian artists. His songs speak powerfully to what is on the heart of the Father at this time. I enjoy the arrangements, the melodies, and especially the words of the songs. I am always excited when I get to hear one of his new songs. I believe he is to the movement I am a part of what Charles Wesley was to the Evangelical Revival in England. He is truly one of the anointed worship leaders in the Kingdom of God. - Randy Clark

Life

Brian Johnson was born and raised in the small mountain town of Weaverville, California. He grew up in a home that practiced worship in everything they did, viewing praise and intimacy with God as more than acts to the Lord but as a daily way of living.

When Brian was 17, he was given his first guitar. He began leading worship for the youth group in his church, Mount Chapel, and one night after the set, a woman came up to him and gave him a prophetic word about worship leading. She told him that he had a natural God-given ability to lead people into worship and that he should wholeheartedly pursue learning to play his guitar and songwriting. Brian took this word seriously, and in a way, it became a map for his life.

In 1996 when Brian was 18, he moved with his family to Redding, California, where his father had been became the senior pastor of Bethel Church. Brian continued seeking the Lord and writing songs. Not too much later he met Jenn, whom he married in April of 1999.

In 2000, Brian became the senior worship pastor at Bethel Church. He released his first album, “Undone” in 2001 with his wife, Jenn. “We Believe” followed in 2006, and then “Love Came Down,” in 2010. He also was the executive producer and featured artist in “Here is Love” 2010. All albums were released under the Bethel Music record label, where Brian serves on the executive board.

Brian continues operating as the senior worship pastor at Bethel Church. He and Jenn have three children: Haley Bren (8), Téa Kate (5), and Braden Tyler (3). Brian is passionate about his family and their community of friends. They frequently host barbecues, movie nights and game nights for their friends and family at their home in Redding.

Brian and Jenn travel around the globe playing at conferences and speaking at churches and ministries. Brian has written and co-written six songs on Bethel Music’s newest album, “Be Lifted High.”
