Life

Matt is a worship leader, songwriter, and worship pastor at Bethel Church. Matt grew up in a home filled with music in a small farming town in southern Wisconsin. He began playing the piano at age 5 and finished his first song at age 6. Matt taught himself to play guitar and continued writing music in his early teens.

After finishing high school, he enrolled in a small music college in Lakeland, Tennessee where he studied Audio Production & Engineering. He then attended a liberal arts school in Springfield, Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting & Journalism. In 2006 he served and was mentored at a small church in New London, New Hampshire and transitioned into the role of worship leader there.

After attending the Bethel School of Worship in 2009, Matt moved to Redding, CA and attended Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM). Matt brings fresh creativity and musical intuition in worship that releases the church into greater unity and honesty before God. His songwriting is featured on The Loft Sessions and he continues to travel in the US & internationally with Bethel Music.
