Controller for Bethel Music

Compensation DOE + benefits, full-time 40 hours a week in Redding, CA, non-remote, authorized to work in the US
The function of this role is to organize and supervise accounting-related functions for Bethel Music, including general accounting, policy development, cash management, and audit preparation.
Expected Responsibilities:
  • Execute
    • Accountable for Accounting Operations
    • Accurate and timely close books which including but not limited to, bank and credit card reconciliations, fixed asset capitalization and depreciation, elimination entries, accruals, and deferrals
    • Providing timely and accurate financial reports to CFO
    • Maintaining adequate systems
    • Ensuring compliance with GAAP
    • Oversee the compilation of required audit documentation
  • Leadership
    • Oversee day to day accounting functions and activities
    • Oversee accounting staff
    • Oversee adherence to budgets
    • Ensure a system of controls is adhered to
  • Analysis
    • Populate monthly reporting documents
    • Calculate Budget vs Actual variance and report on findings
    • Calculate and issue Financial Metrics
    • Provide further analysis as requested
  • Communication
    • Compile and provide reposts as needed
    • Send monthly statements to customers ensuring any past due payments are collected on
Required Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 5 years of general account experience
  • At least 2 years of management experience
  • An understanding of GAAP
  • Mastery of the Accounting Cycle
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excel

Advertising Internship

  • Analyze and report on performance of advertising activities across all channels.
  • Conduct competitive market research to help keep the team become aware of new trends within music marketing.
  • Engage in brainstorming sessions for global marketing campaigns
  • Drafting promotional and social copy for ads.
  • Collaborate with all departments within Bethel Media Group (Bethel Music, WorshipU, Bethel.TV and Bethel Commerce)

YouTube Marketing Volunteer

This volunteer will work directly with the YouTube team for Bethel Music. They will learn the ins and outs of music marketing, publishing, and YouTube content management. We are looking for a self-starter with excellent communication skills and a desire to learn. A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred. This is a non-paid position.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute manual claiming on label owned content on YouTube
  • Provide day-to-day assistance and support to the marketing team
  • Pull data from various digital sources to build marketing reports
  • Learn and stay up to date with music publishing and copyright laws
  • Gain a foundational understanding of music publishing, marketing, and music business in relation to YouTube.
  • Assist in marketing campaign production across multiple channels including email, search, display media, social media and promotions/contests.
  • Help coordinate production and launch of marketing creative pieces used in online campaigns
Requirements:

  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Highly computer, social media, and technology literate including proficiency in MS Office and G Suite
  • Proficiency in Excel preferred
